Dear patients, dear colleagues,
I am pleased to welcome you to the Department of Urology of the University Hospital Essen.
On this website, which is currently being updated, we would like to introduce you to the Department of Urology, its staff as well as our range of services.
The Department of Urology of the University Hospital Essen offers the complete range of urological services under one roof: The Department of Urology is equipped with 45 beds on two wards; our four urological operating rooms and our Urology clinics with numerous special consultation hours are located in the same building. We are pleased to offer the full urological service to you ranging from pediatric urology to plastic reconstructive surgery as well as diagnostics and therapy of urological tumor diseases as our special focus.
In addition to all established forms of therapy, we can also provide novel image-guided and minimally invasive treatment options, e.g. MRI/TRUS-fusion biopsy of the prostate and robotic assisted laparoscopy (daVinci Xi). The close networking and good interdisciplinary cooperation with our clinical partners on campus provide a high degree of certainty and safety in the care for you as a patient and enable the timely and effective translation of results from oncological research into modern clinical medicine (e.g. PSMA-PET imaging and PSMA-radioligand therapy).
We meet the current challenges, especially in the case of individualized cancer therapy, with a new concept of care: a novel professorship for conservative uro-concology at the West German Tumor Center (WTZ) bridges the departments and knowledge of both medical oncology and uro-oncology.
Illness is usually the cause for your stay in our clinic. Therefore, we would like to give you and your relatives not only an optimal diagnostic workup, therapy and care during these difficult times, but also look after you personally and individually.
The best possible patient care is our top priority: Each patient receives the best medical and humane treatment in our clinic.
Please do not hesitate to contact us if you are interested in outpatient or inpatient appointments. More information can be found here
